Katrina Christiansen is running to be a strong, independent voice for all North Dakotans as your next US Senator.

Katrina is proud to call North Dakota home. North Dakota is where she loves to raise her family and works to build a better future for them.

Katrina wants to see North Dakotans thrive. North Dakotans will no longer be overlooked and underserved in Washington D.C. when Katrina is their Senator. Katrina believes it is time North Dakota’s Senator set aside partisan posturing and bickering to focus on delivering real solutions to very real problems. That means changing the Senate representation in Washington D.C. A Senator that is directed toward serving the people, instead of lobbyists and special interests. Katrina will be an advocate for all North Dakotans – rural and urban, young and old, Democrat and Republican.

Katrina has rural roots. She graduated high school as valedictorian in Pender, a town of 1,200 people in northeast Nebraska. Katrina attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating with a degree in Biological Systems Engineering.

Katrina is passionate about agriculture and energy, two of North Dakota’s largest economic sectors. Katrina completed a Master’s degree in 2006 that focused on value added processing for sorghum (milo). Katrina completed a PhD program in Agricultural Engineering in 2011 that compared biofuel production economics and yields at Iowa State University.

Katrina has real world experience as a real problem solver. Katrina worked as a plant engineer at an ethanol plant for two years. Katrina has worked for a large agricultural processor as a researcher and innovator where she earned two patents. Katrina also has experience with start-ups, she worked for a Fargo startup focused on developing innovative equipment for craft maltsters. Katrina takes an idea and can see it through execution.

Katrina is a communicator. Katrina currently works in higher education and loves to share her knowledge and engage with students. Katrina loves to challenge her students and be challenged by them.

Katrina sees a future where anyone who wants to go to college should be able to. Katrina sees capacity in her students to achieve great things and wants them to do it here, in North Dakota. Katrina wants more meaningful, well paying jobs for all North Dakotans.

Katrina is tenacious: not only talking the talk, but walking the walk. North Dakota deserves a Senator like this!

A Senator who will lead by example, not by what their Party Leadership tells them to do. No photo ops and empty promises. No projects for the elite to cash in on. Katrina will be a Senator just working to insure our government provides North Dakotans with the tools and the resources they need to compete and be successful.

North Dakota has a proud history of putting its people first. Katrina promises to fight every day for you, and for all North Dakotans. Let’s protect our farmers, our ranchers, our laborers, and our essential workers. Let’s protect our land. Let’s resolve issues with the right solutions. Let’s make Katrina Christiansen North Dakota’s next Senator this November!
